Hong Kong Part 1: Victoria Peak
Between the 22nd and the 27th
of December, I visited Hong Kong with my friend
Reggie, an ALT in Okayama Prefecture. We stayed in the Wan
Chai neighborhood in downtown Hong Kong.
Like the rest of China writ large, Hong Kong is densely populated.
Consequently, it’s packed with many bars, gift shops and places to eat. There
was always something to do. The weather was also great, nothing like the cold
December weather in back in Kochi. As soon as we stepped off the plane, it was
a comfortable 20°C. So warm! All of this provoked in us a strong incentive to
walk around on foot. One of the more memorable places we ran into in our
wanderings was called Victoria Peak (known locally as The Peak), a popular tourist destination atop the tallest mountain
in Hong Kong, situated on the western side of the island. We took a special
tram up to the very top of the mountain. From the top we were able to see the
entire city. It was fantastically beautiful.
香港 パート１ ヴィクトリア•ピーク
１２月２２日から２７日まで、岡山県でALTをしている友達と一緒に香港へ行ってきました。私たちは香港の市街地界隈の湾仔というところに滞在しました。そこにはたくさんのバーやお土産屋さん、食べ処が密集していました。湾仔は何でもできる場所です。私も飽きることがありませんでした。香港は高知県より暖かかったです。飛行機を降りると、外は２０°で、とても過ごしやすかったです！香港は中国と同じで、たくさんの人がいます。私たちは、ロープウェイで山の頂上まで行きました。思い出深い場所はヴィクトリア•ピークとよばれる山に登ったことです。地元ではピークという愛称でよばれています。この山は観光地として有名で、香港の島の西部では一番高い山です。頂上からは街全体を眺めることができました。今まで見たことなとがないくらい、とても綺麗な景色でした。 翻訳；橋本 佳奈
