Snow 2: Ski trip

Snow 2: Ski trip

While teaching a class at Kamo Elementary School, I saw snow for the first time in my life. However, the first time I was actually able to truly experience it was on a ski trip I took with Nozu Elementary School a few months ago. We went by bus to the neighboring prefecture of Ehime, and drove deep into the mountains for about an hour and a half until we reached a ski resort called Kuma Ski Land. As we were pulling up, it got foggy and it started snowing. As soon as I had a chance, I fell to my knees and dug my fingers deep into the snow. I couldn’t believe it: I was actually holding real snow in my hands for the first time. I was ecstatic! I then immediately proceeded to make snowballs, which of course led to me having my first snowball fight ever with Kana Hashimoto. (I won.) While there, I also tackled skiing for the first time. I’m absolutely no good at it. It was difficult, and I fell a lot of times. This spectacle was very funny for all the people at the resort watching me. But despite all the laughter, it was still pretty fun. I’m happy I got the chance to go.
